Locus festival has always distinguished itself with a perfect balance between quality and popularity of the proposals. It started from a local dimension in 2005, in the small and cosy historic centre of circular Locorotondo, but it grew soon to an international level. Everything in Locus, from the name, the logo, the poster art and the local context is “glocal”; in the enhancement of the site is open to the whole artistic, tourism awareness, overcoming geographical boundaries, personal, economic, stylistic.
The solid fan base knows well that at Locus Festival there is always something interesting to discover. Often, in these ten years, Locus Festival has featured artists before they reached global popularity.

The Locus festival adheres to the Keychange movement, for a music industry more open to women and to all artists and professionals who suffer discrimination based on gender, race and culture. Our commitment for Keychange in the next editions is to have at least 50% of women and gender minorities among the artists on stage.
The representation of women and gender minorities in the music industry remains very low in all European countries. In societies that manage music rights, women represent 20% or less of recorded songwriters and composers. Earnings for women are also lower, with women and gender minorities generally underrepresented in leadership roles across the industry and on festival stages.
The Keychange Pledge represents a collective effort to change this landscape. Through the Pledge, Keychange is building a network of music festivals and organizations that are committed to reaching and transforming representation across the music industry.
Locorotondo, Apulia, southern Italy
Locorotondo is a town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Bari, Apulia, southern Italy. The city is known for its wines and for its circular structure which is now a historical center, from which derives its name, which means "Round place". It is located in south-east Murgia, deep in the Itria Valley, dotted with white typical roundhouses called trulli.
Locorotondo is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The site has been settled since ancient times, as testified by archaeological finds dating between the 3rd and the 7th century BC. The foundation of the town dates back to around 1000 AD as an unfortified hamlet under the jurisdiction of the Benedictine monastery of St. Stephen in Monopoli.
The beauty of the historic centre is also represented by a labyrinth of white alleys, jealously guarded by their inhabitants. The houses are topped with unusual pitched roofs called "cummerse", a feature typical of the historical centre of Locorotondo.
The commune of Locorotondo produces a white Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) Italian wine that can be made in a still or sparkling Spumante* style. The wine is made predominantly (50-65%) from Verdeca and Bianco d'Alessano which can make up 45-50% of the blend. Additional grapes are permitted up to a maximum of 5% including Bombino bianco, Fiano and Malvasia Toscana. The finished wine must attain a minimum alcohol level of 11% in order to be labelled with the Locorotondo DOC designation.
